Watch Ms. Kelm and her students learn to use arts integration with music, composition, circus arts, storytelling, and much more! Ms. Kelm is what this program is about!!
FOLLOW THE BLOG OF CITA TRAILBLAZERS, Mrs. Paulson, Mrs. Schuster and Mrs. Mayer - Oaklawn 3rd Grade AIM Team 2015-2016 - with teaching artist, Melissa Kneeland.
As part of the CITA program, these teachers use their classrooms as a stage for young apprentices, 3rd grade students, in the fine art of drama.
There have been many who have documented the journey of AIM since its beginnings, and we are happy to share some of their journeys here! CITA teachers and student teachers, AIM teaching Artists, and PAINT Interns have recorded their experiences; and we share those stories here, as we are able. If you have stories to add, please do! We are proud and inspired by the team approach of Arts Integration Menomonie; and we are stronger because we have dared to dream together.
It seems appropriate that I write the first blog post here, as I remember those first steps on the journey to what is now AIM. And I have been fortunate to not have to take those steps alone. There are many of us on the AIM journey, and we hope you will join us, too. It only takes a dreamer who believes in the power of the arts to make meaningful instructional and educational experiences. AIM wholeheartedly values and celebrates teachers for their commitment to children in the noblest of professions, teaching. YOU are the heart of education. WE THANK YOU.
Peace and Joy In and Through the Arts,
Tami Rae Weiss
Executive Director for AIM
